Templenoe had a whopping 26 points to spare over Ardfert on a beautiful afternoon at Templenoe GAA Grounds on Sunday.

Templenoe completely dominated possession from the start, but it took a bit of time for the scores to flow initially with just 4 points in the first quarter courtesy of Mark Casey (2), Aidan Crowley and Martin Reilly. Soon after though Templenoe did get into their stride and started to make their domination count on the scoreboard.

A goal by Brian Crowley in the 17th minute following good work by Mark Casey and Adrian Spillane set the tone for what was to follow. Adrian Spillane chipped in with 3 points of his own as did Aidan Crowley. The hosts also had contributions from Ciaran Crowley and Colin Crowley in the second quarter to put Templenoe well on their way for a full share of the spoils. It was very much becoming a damage limitation exercise for Ardfert, although ironically, they did score the only 2 pointer of the game though Fionan Egan and he was the visitors sole scorer in the first half with 3 points in total.

There was to be no let up from Templenoe in the second half. 3 more goals followed from Adrian Spillane, Brian Crowley and Mark Casey as the hosts ruthlessly turned the screw on their opponents. Ardfert soldiered on to the final whistle with Fionan Egan adding another 3 points to his tally and Brian Shanahan also got his name on the score sheet. But on the day, they were no match for the boys in blue, who proceeded to cruise to victory with points from Hugh Granville, Gavin Crowley (2), Aidan Crowley (3), Mark Casey, Brian Crowley and Sean Sheehan along the way.
