Templenoe GAA Club AGM 2026:

The Annual General Meeting of Templenoe GAA Club took place on Friday evening last in the Templenoe Community Centre.

Addressing the meeting which was well attended Chairperson Tomás Crowley welcomed everyone present. Reflecting on the past year, our senior footballers started the year well and stayed up in Division 2 with a degree of comfort. However, our seniors did not have one of their better years in the senior club or county championships. That said our senior team did finish the year on a high by winning the South Kerry League which was seen as important for their morale. The outgoing management were thanked for their efforts and commitment. It was confirmed at the meeting that Paddy Curran (Waterville) was appointed as Manager and he will be assisted by Brian O’Sullivan (Skellig Rangers) for the upcoming year.

On the county front, Tadhg Morley and Killian Spillane continue to be an integral part of the Kerry senior football panel and they were congratulated on winning their second All-Ireland senior medals in 2025.

Off the field, gratitude was expressed to the club officers, Bord na nÓg officers, the Lotto committee, the Field committee, Healthy club committee, Scór coaches and all our volunteers for all their work in the past year. Appeals were also made at the meeting for more people to get involved with the Club lotto which is a key fundraiser for the club’s finances.

It was announced at the meeting that Pat Spillane has accepted the honour of becoming one of the Club’s Honorary Life Presidents. It is a richly deserved honour for Pat, whose outstanding achievements during his football career along with his brothers Tom and Mick are pride of place in Templenoe. Pat also served as Chairperson of the club for many years and was instrumental in getting our field developed and the stand built.

Regarding election of officers, Deirdre Moriarty as Secretary and Eddie O’Sullivan as County board delegate vacated their roles after they completed their stints. Both were commended and thanked at the meeting for their invaluable work and dedication during their terms. John Morley and Dan O’Connor (Rossacussane) were elected as Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively, while Pat O’Neill was voted in as the County Board delegate for the year ahead.
