Templenoe 1-13 Na Gael 0-07
Templenoe proved too good for Na Gaeil in in a division 4 top of the table clash. The match was played in splendid conditions on Sunday in front of a good crowd.
The early exchanges were even enough with Seamie O Neill and Cian Hallissey swooping scores. Mike Griffin edged Na Gaeil ahead on 10 mins before Cian Hallissey rattled the net after he won a breaking ball. Danny Cahalane sent a free over from the ground and more points from Cian Hallissey and John Rice put Templenoe 1-04 to 0-02 ahead.
Two frees by Na Gaeil’s Mike Griffin and Seamie O Neill after he was fouled, left three points of a difference with 7 minutes left in the first half. Sean Sheehan added a superb point for Templenoe after he fielded a kick out and went on a solo run up the field. This left the half time score Templenoe 1.05 Na Gaeil 0-04
The first score of the second half came when Seamie O Neill drilled over a free for Na Gaeil. Shane Cremin replied with a point put Paul Daly again scored to keep Na Gaeil in touch. A point from Shane Cremin after fielding a kick out started a period of dominance for Templenoe. More scores followed from Cian Hallissey, Tadhg Morley and Kieran McCarthy all from play. Seamie O Neill responded for Na Gaeil but Cian Hallissey again replied with a Templenoe point.
With about 5 minutes to go, a long ball into Cian Hallissey resulted in a penalty for the home team. Danny Cahalane struck the penalty well but was saved by Na Gaeil goalie Aidan Quirke. The final score of the game was scored by Tadhg Morley who caught an Adrian Spillane free and kicked it over the bar. After that the final whilst sounded leaving the final score Templenoe 1-13 to 0-07
