Templenoe came out on top in the second round of the U21 club mple The match was played on a dry evening in good conditions in Templenoe omMiltown/Castlemaine looked very dangerious from the start and lead by 4 o one after ten minutes. John Rice being Templenoe's only scorer. Templenoe came into the match in great style with a fantastic goal from Mike Hallissey. This was followed with points from Adrian Spillane and two from John Rice to leave Templenoe a goal ahead with 20mins gone.  More points followed from John Spillane and Denis O Neill (0-2). With half time approaching Sean Sheehan rattled the net leaving the score at the interval Templenoe 2-07, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-04.


Both teams got early scores in the second half but a goal from Tommy Spillane killed off the game as a contest. Milltown/Castlemaine replied with a free but Templenoe followed up with the next two scores through John Rice and Kieran O Neill. Templenoe. John Spillane scored Templenoe's last point of the night before Milltown/Castlemaine responded tomleave the final score Templenoe 3-11, Milltown/Castlemaine 0-09.
