Moyvane 1-08, Templenoe 1-16

Templenoe made the long trip north to Moyvane and came away with a good victory. It was a high scoring game played in good conditions on a fine moyvane pitch. Cian Hallissey opened the scoring for Templenoe with a free and followed up with a point from play. Moyvane opened their account with a point from Kerry senior Paddy Curtain. Tadhg Morley increased Templenoe leadnhe when cut through for goal and took a point. Another Paddy Curtain point was responded to with a point from Cian Hallissey with 12 minutes gone. This was Cians last involvement in the game as he had to come off through injury. John Rice replaced him as a sub. Moyvane drew level with two points in a period where Templenoe missed a few good scoring opportunities. John Spillane worked a good point which was followed up by a John Rice point with his left leg. Just before the break Moyvane converted a free to leave the half time score Moyvane 0-05, Templenoe 0-06.


 

 

Moyvane leveled the score early in the second half with a Paddy Curtain free. Templenoe responded with a point from Shane Cremin. On 35 minutes, Paddy Curtin picked the ball up 45 meters from goal, ran at the Templenoe defence and rifled the ball to the back of the net. This began a purple patch for Moyvane and they added on another point and goal to leave the score 2-07 to 0-07 with 20 mins to go. Templenoe were in a bit of disarray at this stage but a good move saw Sean Sheehan in space and heading for goal. With a bit of work to do, Sean switched the ball to his left leg and drilled it low to the net. Moyvane quickly replied with a point but a much revitilised Templenoe started to gain control. Substitute Patrick Palmer scored a long range free and followed with a great point from play to leave two points between the teams with ten mins left.

Templenoe continued to press on and points from Tadhg Morley, John Spillane and John Rice saw them take the lead. The last two scores of the game were frees from Patrick Palmer leaving Templenoe victorious with the score Moyvane 2-08, Templenoe 1-16
