Christmas Bazzar

The 2009 Christmas Bazzar will be held in Pobail Scoil Inbher Sceine on Sunday the 13th of December 2009. This year the Bazzar is being run by Templenoe GAA Club in assocation with the Kenmare and Templenoe Graveyard Committees and the Kenmare Regional Youth Clubs. Donations of items can be dropped into the Blackwater Tavern, the stand in Templenoe GAA grounds, Mick Granville at Dunkerron, Kenmare or Sean Finnegan's Jewellery shop, Main Street, Kenmare. Your support would be greatly appreciated. For further details please contact Tommy Granville.

U-21 Club Shield

Templenoe 2-6, Skellig Rangers 1-10
Templenoe U-21 side were narrowly beaten by Skellig Rangers at Templenoe last Tuesday. At half-time Templenoe had a 1-4 to 0-6 lead with Patrick Palmer, Martin Reilly and Sean Sheehan getting the scores. In the second half Skellig drew level and then went three points in front after they scored a goal. Both sides exchanged points to leave Skellig Rangers 1-9 to 1-6 in front entering the closing stages. Sean Sheehan leveled the match with a great goal. However Skellig Rangers had the last say with a point to leave the final score Skellig Rangers 1-10, Templenoe 2-6.

Senior County League Fixture

Templenoe are at home to St. Senans on Saturday 22nd August at 7.30 pm.

U16 South Kerry Final

Templenoe play St. Marys at Dromid on Friday 21st August at 7pm.

U12 South Kerry Final

Templenoe are playing Skellig Rangers at Dromid in the South Kerry U-12 Final at 6pm on Friday 21st August.

Race Night

Templenoe GAA Club are having a race night on Saturday 22nd August in The Blackwater Tavern. The first race is at 9.30 pm and everyone is welcome.

U16 County Semi-Final Result

Templenoe 3-15  Spa 4-6
Templenoe had a good win over Spa in Templenoe last Wednesday evening. TRemplenoe led 2-8 to 1-3 at half time with the goals coming from Cian Hallissey and Adrian Spillane. Spa rallied in the second half but Templenoe held out for a deserved win. The Kenmare District team had a good win over Keirns O Rahillys at Kenmare last Tuesday. Kenmare led by 1-5 to 0-4 at half time with Tadhg Morley 1-1, Tom Spillane 0-1 and Stephen O'Brien 0-3 getting on the scoreboard. Templenoe 2-8  Ballylongford 2-7
Templenoe had a narrow win over Ballylongford at Templenoe last Sunday. Templenoe opened the scoring through Shane Cremin and got a well worked goal from Timmy Clifford. Ballylongford replied with three points of their own before they got a goal from a penalty. Templenoe had a point from Timmy Clifford however Ballylongford struck for their second goal putting them 2-3 to 1-2 ahead. Templenoe reduced the margin with points from Brian O'Connor and Patrick Palmer leaving Ballylongford 2-3 to 1-4 in front. Templenoe drew level early in the second half with points from Patrick Palmer and Timmy Clifford. Ballylongford went ahead before Patrick Palmer got Templenoe on level terms. Patrick Palmer kicked Templenoe in front before extending their lead with a great goal from Danny Cahalane putting Templenoe 2-8 to 2-4 ahead. Ballylongford struck back with late scores but Templenoe held on for a 2-8 to 2-7 victory.

Round 2 of the U-8 League is on Wednesday evening in Templenoe 7pm.

Novice Sheild Result

Valentia 2-12   Templenoe 1-09
Valentia proved too strong for Templenoe in difficult conditions in Valentia last Saturday. Templenoe played with a strong wind in the first half but the home side led at half time 1-5 to 0-04. Templenoe scores came from Timmy Clifford, Teddy Doyle and two from Patrick Palmer. Valentia increased their lead by 1-1 at the start of the second half but Templenoe replied with a point from Patrick Palmer and Teddy Doyle. Templenoe were then awarded a penalty which was converted by Shane Cremin. Patrick Palmer added further points to leave only two points between the teams. Valentia however kicked some long range points and John Cremin got Templenoe's last point to leave the scoreline 2-12 to 1-9. It was encouraging to see the younger players playing so well and can only be good for the future.

Kenmare District Senior Fixture

The Senior Kenmare District team are playing South Kerry in Currow on Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Dan O Sullivan tournament.

U-12 Co. League Results

Templenoe/Tuosist played two games last week. On Friday they lost to Castleisland and on Sunday they lost narrowly to Legion. The team played well in both games and although leading in both games lost out.

A late Patrick Palmer point gave Templenoe a share of the spoils in a keenly contested game in Templenoe last Saturday.Listry opened the scoring befor a good Templenoe move set up Sean sheehan who shot low to the back of the net. Timmy clifford got 2 more points and 3 converted frees from Patrick Palmer left the score at half time 1-5 to 0-5. A tense second half ensued with both tems swapping points. To mark the 125th. year since the founding of the GAA, Templenoe GAA Club will be hosting a fundraising Table Quiz at the Brooklane Hotel on Friday the 8th of May commencing at 8.30pm.
Entry fee of €10.00 per person with teams of four. Everybody is welcome and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Templenoe u-14 continued their winning streak by beating St Marys away in Caherciveen last Friday evening. Although losing at half time they played brilliantly in the second half and won on a scoreline of 3-6 to 1-9.Best for Templenoe were Evan Christian and Richard Palmer in the backs Killian Spillane in midfield and up front Stephen O Sullivan did the damage.

Senior Co. League Result

Kilgarvan 0-8  Templenoe 1-12
An improved second half performance saw Templenoe get the better of Kilgarvan in the county league match played in perfect conditions at Kilgarvan last Saturday. Kilgarvan opened the scoring from a free by Donal O Sullivan, they increased their lead through a point from Glen Egan.
Templenoe's Timmy Clifford fired over a point after a good move. Shane Cremin and Sean Sheehan were both on target for Templenoe, putting Templenoe 0-3 to 0-2 ahead at half time.
Templenoe went further ahead through Sean Sheehan and Kieran McCarthy. Kilgarvans Glen Egan and Templenoes Timmy Clifford swapped points before Donal O Sullivan narrowed the gap with two points to make it 0-6 to 0-5.
Pa Cremin leveled the match at 0-6 points each. Templenoes Shane Cremin and a Teddy Doyle free put two points between the teams.Then came a great team move which was finished to the net by Sean Sheehan, leaving Templenoe 1-8 to 0-6 ahead.
Timmy Clifford and Sean Sheehan again were on target for Templenoe, before Colm Kelleher replied for Kilgarvan. Another Timmy Clifford point was answered by Glen Egan, before John Cremin had the last score of the match leaving Templenoe the winners by 1-12 to 0-8.

Skellig Rangers 1-12  Templenoe 1-05
The newly crowned All-Ireland Junior champions were too good for Templenoe in Portmagee on Sunday. The home side lead 1-6 to 0-3 at half-time with Patrick Palmer(2) and Sean Sheehan on target for Templenoe. Templenoe goalie Donal Casey made some point blank saves before he moved to the forwards and scored a point himself. A blistering Padraig O'Sullivan shot skimmed the Rangers crossbar for another point and Patrick Palmer got in for a great goal however Rangers pulled away near the end and held on for a 1-12 to 1-5 win.

Medal Presentations

Kerry captain Darren O'Sullivan will present medals on Tuesday 17th. February in the Brook Lane Hotel, Kenmare. The victorious Templenoe U-14 panel will receive Co.League, South Kerry League and Connie McCarthy Cup medals. The U-12 team will be presented with Co. League and Liam Cousins Cup medals and the U-10s will receive T-Shirts and Footballs for their participation in the Munster Council Go Games blitz.

31 Card Drive

Templenoe FAA Club is running a 31 Card Drive at the Blackwater Tavern and at Spillane's Bar. Entry fee is 10 Euro and everyone is welcome.

Social

Templenoe had a very enjoyable social at the Brook Lane Hotel. Special presentations were made to Michael Moriarty, Kerry Minor Hurling, Sean Moriarty, Kerry U-16 All Ireland Hurling medal winner, John Rice, Kerry Primary Schools Boys Team, Ellie Gudgeon, Kerry Primary Schools Girls team, Michelle O'Connor, Clare O'Sullivan and Geraldine Cahalane, Kerry U-14 Ladies Munster and All Ireland medals winners.

Congratulations

to Pobalscoil Inbhear Sceine on winning the Joe O'Connor Cup defeating Mercy Mounthawk Tralee by 0-8 to 0-6 in the final played in Listry.

Charity Match

Templenoe Under-23s 2-12  Templenoe Over-23s 4-05
This was a very enjoyable game played in memory of Timmy Clifford before a large crowd at Templenoe. The U-23 team held on for a narrow victory with goals from captain Padraig Doyle and Kieran McCarthy. The game was well refereed by Denis Sheehan.
