Templenoe GAA Notes: 18-12-2006

Whist Drive: A Whist Drive will be held in Templenoe Community Centre this Thursday, 21st. December at 8:30pm.

Templenoe Charity Match in aid of the Lukaemia and Burns Unit of Cork University Hospital on Wednesday 27th. December at 7:30pm.

Social: The Templenoe GAA Social is on Friday 29th. December in the Brook Lane Hotel Kenmare.

Christmas Draw: The Templenoe GAA Club Christmas draw will take place on Saturday 30th. December in Spillane's Bar.  Lines are two Euro each and are currently being sold by club members.

Whist Drive  on Thursday 16th. November at 8:30pm in Templenoe Community Centre. 

Templenoe Senior Citizens  will meet on Friday morning at 11am in the Community Centre.

Scor na nOg: The District Board finals of Scor na nOg will be held in Pobal Scoil Kenmare on Friday 17th. November at 7:30pm.  Templenoe's Scor na nOg was held in the Blackwater Tavern last Saturday.

Teddy O'Sullivan Casey Cup: Templenoe U-13s won the Teddy Casey Cup beating Macroom in the final last Saturday.  Three teams took part, Macroom, Kenmare and Templenoe.  The cup was presented to the winning team by Johnny O'Sullivan Casey.  The club would like to thank the O'Sullivan Casey family for sponsoring the blitz and would also like to thank Kenmare and Macroom for participating. Templenoe panel and scorers:

Mass: A mass will be held in the New Cemetery Templenoe on Saturday November 11th. at 11am.

Finnegan Cup Final Result:  Templenoe 0-08 v Tuosist 1-11.  Match Report.

Congratulations to Michelle O'Connor and Clare O'Sullivan on being part of the Kerry U-12 girls team that won the blitz in Ennis last Saturday.  The team beat Galway, Clare, Laois, Down on the way to defeating Dublin in the final.

Collection: The Annual Church Gate Collection in aid of the Kerry Association of Spina Bifida will take place this weekend at all masses.

All Ireland Minor Final Replay: Hard luck to the Kerry Minors who, despite their best efforts, lost to a very good Roscommon side in the replay of the All Ireland football final played at Ennis last Saturday.

U-16 Result: The U-16 team beat Waterville at Templenoe in the South Kerry League last Sunday.

Cahill Cup Result:  Cromane B 1-10  Templenoe 0-07. 
An understrength Templenoe side bowed out of the Cahill Cup in the quarter final against Cromane last Friday evening in Cromane.  The home side were always in the lead even though Templenoe tried hard throughout.

All Ireland Regatta:  Congratulations to Templenoe's U-14 Rowing team that competed in the All Ireland rowing championship finals at Wexford last weekend.  The team came fifth and included Tommy Spillane, Colm Breen, John Spillane and Tommy O'Sullivan.

Congratulations  to the Kerry Minor and Senior teams on their wins in Croke Park last Sunday.

Cahill Cup Result:  Templenoe 2-07  Kenmare 0-10.  Match Report.

Cahill Cup Fixture:  The next round of the Cahill Cup is away to Cromane on Friday 18th. August at 7:15pm.

Co. League Result:  Cordal 3-12  Templenoe 2-06.  Match Report.

U-16 Result:  The U-16 team defeated Rathmore in Tuosist last Wednesday evening and are undefeated in Division 3.

Best wishes to the Kerry Senior and Minor teams in the All Ireland semi-finals next weekend at Croke Park.

Race Night: A large crowd attended the Templenoe GAA Club race night held at the Blackwater Tavern on Sunday.  A very enjoyable night was had by all.  The club would like to thank all the race sponsors, everyone who bought a horse and all who supported the race night.

U-16 Result: Templenoe/Tuosist/Kilgarvan had a good victory by 3-08 to 0-08 over An Ghaeltacht in Templenoe last Wednesday evening. Their next match is against Rathmore this week.

All-Ireland Champions: The Kerry Junior team defeated Roscommon in the All-Ireland final played in Ennis last Sunday. 
Congratulations to Shane Cremin (Templenoe), Flor O'Sullivan, John Joe Brosnan, Marcus McNally (Tuosist) and Donal O'Connor (Kenmare) on being part of the victorious Kerry panel.

Wedding: Congratulations to Maire Sheehan and Danny Quill who were married recently.

Mass: The annual mass in Old Templenoe Cemetary will be held on Friday 4th. August at 8pm.

Co. Minor B Final Result: Kenmare District were narrowly beaten by Rathmore in the Co. Minor B final played at Rathmore last week.

Sympathy is extended to Rosari Spillane and family on the death of her father Bernard (Ben) Moloney R.I.P. who passed away in Co. Waterford last week.

On Thursday Templenoe had a good win over Renard in the South Kerry U-12 League.

U-14 Co. Championship Result:  
Kenmare District bowed out of the U-14 Co. Football Championship last Wednesday at Templenoe when they met a stronger Tralee District side in good conditions before a good sized attendance.  Kenmare tried hard throughout the match but couldn't match Tralee.  Best wishes on a speedy and full recovery to Kieran O'Neill who broke his collar bone near the end of the game.

Good Luck  to the Kenmare hurlers who are heading to Feile in Cork this weekend.  The team includes Templenoe's Patrick and Sean Moriarty, D. O'Neill, Adrian Spillane, John Spillane and Teddy Doyle.

Kerry Juniors Well done to Shane Cremin on a solid performance with the Kerry Juniors in their 0-10 to 0-09 win over Tipperary in the Munster Championship semi-final last Sunday in Killarney.

Templenoe GAA Notes: 05-06-2006

Fixtures:

U-14 Co. Championship: Kenmare District v Tralee District Wednesday 7th. June at 7pm.
Co. Junior League: Templenoe B v Kilgarvan B on Friday 9th.. June at 8pm.

Co. Junior League Result:  Templenoe B 1-11  Firies B 3-04. Match Report.

Co. League Result:  Templenoe were well beaten by a well-drilled Fossa team in Templenoe last Saturday evening.  Templenoe were short a number of regulars and this did not help their cause.

U-14 Results:  
South Kerry proved too strong for Kenmare District in the 1st. Round of the Co. Championship played last Wednesday.  On Sunday evening Templenoe lost to Rathmore in the Division 2 semi-final at Glenflesk.  Templenoe tried hard and played to their best but Rathmore were too good.  Templenoe were missing Tommy Spillane (broken arm), Keith Clifford (collar bone), Sean Moriarty (broken hand and injured wrist) and Martin O'Reilly (chipped bone in hand).  We wish all the players a full and speedy recovery.

U-14 South Kerry Final Result:  Templenoe 1-10  St. Mary's 0-11. 
Congratulations to Templenoe on defeating St. Mary's at Valentia last Saturday.  Despite trailing by 0-9 to 0-3 at half-time Templenoe kept plugging away to get the better of St. Mary's at the final whistle.  Best wishes to Tom Spillane who broke his arm during the match.

U-14 Co. Championship Result:  The Kenmare District U-14 team were too strong for St. Brendan's at Templenoe last Wednesday evening.

U-12 Co. League Result:  Templenoe defeated Castlegregory at Templenoe last Saturday.

Good Luck  to the Kenmare U-11 Hurling team who have qualified for Mosney.  Included in the panel are Killian Spillane, Stephen O'Sullivan and Patrick Clifford.

Congratulations to the minors from Templenoe, Kilgarvan and Tuosist who defeated Churchill at Rathmore in heavy and wet conditions last Thursday.  Patrick Palmer and Padraig Doyle goals proved vital to the team.

U-14 Division 2 Playoff Result:  Templenoe got the better of Castleisland Desmonds by a single point at Fossa last Saturday and have now qualified for the semi-final.

U-12 Co. League Result:  The U-12 team had an easy win over Annascaul in Templenoe in poor weather last Sunday evening.

Good Luck  to Kenmare girls who are playing in the U-14 semi-final in Templenoe on Thursday at 7pm.  Four of the team are from Templenoe including Shona Spillane, Melanie Palmer, Clare O'Sullivan and Michelle O'Connor.

Congratulations  to Shane Cremin on a fine performance for the Kerry Juniors and also to John Joe Brosnan and Marcus McNally from Tuosist who played very well last Sunday.

Minor Co. League Semi-final Result:  Templenoe/Kilgarvan/Tuosist 2-11  Cromane/Listry 2-08.  Match Report.

U-14 South Kerry League Result:  The U-14 team defeated Valentia away in Valentia in the South Kerry League last Wednesday.

U-12 Co. League Result:  The U-12 team defeated Sneem/Derrynane away in Sneem in the the Co. League last Sunday evening.

Templenoe GAA Notes: 08-05-2006

AIB Co. Championship Round 1 Result:  West Kerry 0-14  Kenmare District 2-15.  Match Report.

U-14s:  The U-14 team beat Waterville by a point in Waterville on Sunday 30 April in the South Kerry League.  They were defeated last Wednesday in the Co. League by Rathmore.  Templenoe are also in a play-off with Castleisland Desmonds to decide who goes forward into the Divison 2 semi-final.

U-12s:  Templenoe's U-12 team had a good win away to St. Pat's Blennerville last Sunday in the Co. League.

Templenoe/Kilgarvan/Tuosist  are playing in the semi-final of Division 3B on Sunday 14th. May at 6:30pm.  The venue depends on the result of the game between Listry/Cromane and Beale.  If Beale win the venue will be Currow otherwise the game will be played in Glenflesk.

Novice Championship Fixture:  Listry v. Templenoe in Listry on Saturday 13th. May at 7:30pm.

Congratulations to Toni and Eddie O'Sullivan on the birth of their new baby girl recently.

Kerry U-14 Girls: Good luck to Michelle O'Connor and Shona Spillane who are currently training with the Kerry U-14 girls team.

National Schools League: The three final games were played in Templenoe last Sunday and were enjoyed by a large crowd in sunshine and good conditions.  All the players received medals after their games.

Medals: Kerry star Mike Frank Russell presented the U-12 team with their Co. League and South Kerry medals and the U-14 team with their South Kerry medals at the Blackwater Tavern last Saturday evening.

Kenmare District Board National School League: The National School League continues with three games in Templenoe on Thursday at 6:30pm (Round 3).  Round 1 was played on Friday and Round 2 on Monday evening.

Kerry Ladies: Congratulations to Denise Hallisey who was wing-back on the Kerry side which beat Dublin in the National League game played in Killorglin last Sunday.

Readoiri: Congratulations to Theresa O'Shea who took part in the All-Ireland final instrumental music section in Limerick last Sunday.

Management team: The templenoe management team for 2006 is Paul Crowley, David O'Connor, Dan O'Sullivan and Denny Cremin. Timmy Clifford is this year's captain with Oghie Sheehy as vice captain.

Training: The Templenoe team are training on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays at 7:30pm.  It is important that as many players as possible turn out regularly this year.

Templenoe GAA Notes: 02-01-2006

Annual General Meeting: The AGM of Templenoe GAA Club will take place in the community centre on Saturday January 21st. at 7pm.  Any members wishing to submit motions or nominations for any officers positions must do so in writing and return to the club secretary no later than Saturday January 14th..

Club Constitution: An official club constitution as approved by congress is to be adopted at an EGM of Templenoe GAA Club to be held on Saturday 21st. January at 6:45pm in the community centre immediately preceding the AGM.  The rules concerning the business and affairs of the club shall be set out in this new constitution.  It is important that our members attend so as to vote and pass this new document.  Anyone wishing to obtain a copy of the document may do so by contacting the club secretary. 

Social: A large crowd attended the Templenoe GAA Social at the Brook Lane hotel Kenmare.  A very enjoyable night was had by everyone.

Charity Match: Templenoe GAA Club would like to thank everyone who supported the charity game to raise funds for Kenmare hospital.
