Templenoe GAA Notes: 02-01-2006

Annual General Meeting: The AGM of Templenoe GAA Club will take place in the community centre on Saturday January 21st. at 7pm.  Any members wishing to submit motions or nominations for any officers positions must do so in writing and return to the club secretary no later than Saturday January 14th..

Club Constitution: An official club constitution as approved by congress is to be adopted at an EGM of Templenoe GAA Club to be held on Saturday 21st. January at 6:45pm in the community centre immediately preceding the AGM.  The rules concerning the business and affairs of the club shall be set out in this new constitution.  It is important that our members attend so as to vote and pass this new document.  Anyone wishing to obtain a copy of the document may do so by contacting the club secretary. 

Social: A large crowd attended the Templenoe GAA Social at the Brook Lane hotel Kenmare.  A very enjoyable night was had by everyone.

Charity Match: Templenoe GAA Club would like to thank everyone who supported the charity game to raise funds for Kenmare hospital.

Charity Match: Templenoe GAA Club are holding a charity game under lights in aid of Kenmare Hospital on Wednesday 28th. December at 7:30pm.  Everybody is welcome.

Social: Templenoe GAA Club are having a social at the Brook Lane Hotel Kenmare on Thursday 29th. December at 8:30pm.  Tickets are available from Timmy Clifford and are €20 each.

Congratulations to Templenoe's Novelty Act that put on a great show in the Scor Na nOg county final held at the Gleneagle Hotel last Sunday.  The Novelty Act was performed by Denise Cremin, Theresa O'Shea, Daniel O'Sullivan and Claire O'Sullivan.

Murphy Cup Final: Templenoe vs. Kenmare is fixed for Templenoe on St. Stephen's Day at 2:30pm.

Scor Na nOg: Congratulations to the Templenoe Novelty Act that qualified for the co. final in the Gleneagle Hotel Killarney.  The semi-final was held in Dromid last Friday night.  Good luck in the final. 
Also congratulations to Templenoe Youth Club that qualified for the co. final with their Novelty Act.
In the Co. Readori final Templenoe won the Novelty Act and Threasa O'Shea won the Music section.

Sympathy is extended to Mary Carey and family on the death of her brother Tom Evans R.I.P. late of Keel Castlemaine.

Happy Birthday to Templenoe GAA Chairman Pat Spillane who celebrated his birthday with family and his many friends at Pat Spillane's Bar last Friday evening. A great night was had by all.

Scor Na nOg: Good luck to the Templenoe set dancers, novelty act, quiz team and recitation that qualified for the co. semi-finals to be held in Dromid on Friday 2nd. December at 7:30pm.  Well done also to Richard Palmer who was runner-up in the solo singing.  Set Dancers: M Palmer, N O'Sullivan, S O'Shea, J Egan, T Doyle, M Reilly, K O'Neill and D O'Neill.  Novelty Act: T O'Shea, P O'Connell, D O'Sullivan, C O'Sullivan and D Cremin.  Recitation: Danny Quinn.

Congratulations to the Templenoe U-10s who overcame a brave Tuosist side at Templenoe last Sunday.  The Teddy Casey Cup and medals were presented to both teams by Teddy's nephew Teddy O'Sullivan Casey.

Sympathy is extended to the family, friends and relatives of Kathleen Spillane R.I.P. late of Dromquinna, Templenoe who passed away recently.

Skills: Congratulations to Adrian Spillane, John Spillane and Tagdh Morley who won the Cumann na mBunscol Skills Co. Final at Austin Stack Park Tralee last week.

Templenoe GAA Club Golf Classic: Templenoe held a very successful Golf Classic at the Ring of Kerry Golf and Country Club last Saturday.  The event was won by Pat Ahern's team with Whyte's Centra Supermarket Kenmare second.  The club would like to thank all the teams who took part and the Ring of Kerry Golf Club for hosting the event.

U-16 South Kerry Result: Templenoe were defeated 2-9 to 1-8 by St.Michaels in Dromid.

Sympathy is extended to the family, friends and relatives of the late Threasa Doyle R.I.P. formerly of Blackwater who passed away recently.

Bord Na Nog: Templenoe U-10s took part in a blitz in Glenflesk last Saturday. In their group they played Rathmore, Legion and Fossa. Legion and Fossa contested the final with Glenflesk emerging victorious.

All Ireland Final: Best wishes and good luck to all of the Kerry team and management when they play Tyrone in the All Ireland football final next Sunday.

All Ireland Final Tickets Draw: The draw for All Ireland final tickets will be held on Tuesday 20th. September in the Community Centre at 10pm.  Members should give their names to Eddie O'Sullivan or Timmy Clifford as soon as possible.

U-16 South Kerry League Fixture: Templenoe play An Dromid in Dromid on Wednesday 7th. September at 6:45pm.

U-16 Co. Championship Result: Kenmare District were defeated by West Kerry in Anascaul last Wednesday.  In the second match they lost to Mid Kerry at Kilgarvan on Sunday evening.

U-12 Results: Templenoe were runners-up to Glenflesk in an U-12 Blitz held in Fossa last Saturday.  On Thursday then defeated Garnish in a challenge game held in Templenoe.

U-16 Co. Championship Fixture: Kenmare District play West Kerry in Anascaul at 7pm on Wednesday 31st. August.

Challenge Match Result: Templenoe defeated Glengarrif by 3-09 to 0-16 in Templenoe last Monday evening.

U-16 South Kerry League Result: Templenoe beat Sneem/Derrynane last Wednesday evening.

Purcell Cup Result: Templenoe defeated Tuosist by 2-12 to 2-06 in Templenoe last Thursday evening.  Match Report.

Cahill Cup Semi Final Result: Templenoe lost to Renard in Sneem last Friday evening.

Congratulations to the Kerry Senior team on their fine victory over Cork and commiserations to the Minors who were narrowly beaten by Mayo in the All Ireland semi-finals last Sunday.

Novice Shield Quarter Final Result: Templenoe 1-12  Derrynane 2-06.
Templenoe had a good win away to Derrynane in the Co. Novice Shiled last Friday evening, the Templenoe goal coming from Brian O' Connor.
Scorers: Brian O'Connor 1-1, Shane Cremin 0-6, Joseph Sheehan 0-2, John K. O'Sullivan 0-1, Patrick Palmer 0-1, Damien Clifford 0-1.

Co. League Result: Templenoe 1-10  Dr. Crokes B 2-07.  Match Report.

U-16 Result: Templenoe/Tuosist/Kilgarvan 3-13 Dromid/Waterville 3-12. 
Templenoe/Tuosist/Kilgarvan had a 1 point win over Dromid/Waterville in Templenoe last Monday.  At one stage Templenoe/Tuosist/Kilgarvan led by seven points but Dromid/Waterville levelled and it took a late rally to victory.  By virute of this victory the Templenoe/Tuosist/Kilgarvan team topped Group 3 and qualified for the semi-final stage where they will play Castlegregory.  Dromid/Waterville have also qualified. 

U-12 South Kerry League Result: The U-12s beat St. Mary's by a 5 point margin away in Cahersiveen.

Kenmare District Minor Result: The Kenmare district minor side were defeated by Austin Stacks in the semi-final of the Club Minor Championship in Killarney on Wednesday last.

Congratulations to the Kerry Minors on defeating Laois in the quarter final on Monday.

Best Wishes to the Kerry Senior Panel who play Mayo in Croke Park next Sunday.

Novice Shield Fixture: Templenoe play Derrynane in Derryname on Friday 29th. July at 7:30pm.

Co. League Fixture: Templenoe play Dr. Crokes B in Templenoe on Saturday 30th. July at 7:30pm.

Good Luck to the Kerry Minors who play Laois in the quarter finals this weekend.

Well done to the Kerry South U-16 team which beat Limerick in Askeaton to win the Munster U-16 Inter-county Campionship last week, Daniel O'Connor was on the panel.

Co. League Result: Ballylongford 2-11  Templenoe 0-04.  Templenoe lost away to Ballylongford last Saturday evening.  Match Report.

U-15 Co. Championship Result: The U-15 team lost away to Listowel Emmets.

U-16 Co. League Results: Templenoe/Kilgarvan/Tuosist defeated St. Mary's Cahersiveen on Friday evening last and top group 3B after their narrow 3-13 to 3-12 victory over Dromid/Waterville on Monday night in Templenoe.

Sneem Blitz: A very enjoyable blitz was held in Sneem last Saturday for the U-10 and U-12 footballers of Kenmare, Templenoe, Derrynane and Sneem.  Templenoe were victorious in both the U-10 and U-12 competitions.

Co. League Fixture: Templenoe play Ballylongford in Ballylongford on Saturday 23rd. July at 8pm.

U-16 Co. League Fixtures: Templenoe/Kilgarvan/Tuosist play St. Mary's in Cahersiveen on Friday 22nd. July and play Waterville in Templenoe on Monday 25th.. Throw-in for both matches is at 7:30pm.

Co. Championship Result: Laune Rangers 0-09  Kenmare 1-05.  Match Report.

Co. League Fixture: Templenoe play Listry in Listry on Saturday 2nd. July at 7pm.

U-16 Co. League Fixture: Templenoe/Tuosist/Kilgarvan play Kenamre in Kenmare on Monday 4th. July at 7:30pm.

U-12 Co. League Fixture: The U-12 team play Listowel Emmets in Listowel on Sunday 3rd. July at 7pm.  Templenoe must also play St. Mary's Cahersiveen in a back game.

U-12 South Kerry League Fixture: The U-12 team play St. Michael's in Templenoe on Wednesday June 29th. at 7:30pm.

U-16 Result: The U-16 team beat St. Michael's Filmore on Monday evening last at Templenoe.

U-14 Result: The U-14 team defeated Cork side Garnish in a challenge match on Friday.

U-12 Results: The U-12 continued their excellent run beating Sneem/Derrynane in the South Kerry League fixture in Templenoe last Wednesday.  In the Co. League they made the long journey to Ballyheigue on Saturday evening and won despite trailing by 1-08 to 1-02 at half-time against a strong wind. In the second half they made good use of the conditions and limited Ballyheigue's scroing to just 2 points.  On Sunday Templenoe also beat Beale in Templenoe.

U-10 Result: The U-10 team defeated Tuosist in an exciting challenge game on Tuesday 21st. June in Kenmare and play a return match against the same opposition in Tuosist on Tuesday 28th. June.

Congratulations to Shane Cremin and the Kerry Junior panel on defeating Limerick in the Munster semi-final last Thursday evening. Shane played at centre-half forward.  Kerry play Cork in the Munster final on Wednesday 6th. July in Cork.  

Well done to Melanie Palmer on making the Kerry Cailini Og panel.  

Munster Final Tickets: Club members interested in purchasing tickets for the Munster Final in Pairc Ui Caoimh on July 10th. should give their names to any club officer by Friday 1st. July.

Good Luck to Shane Cremin and the Kerry Juniors in their replay against Limerick at 7:30pm this Thursday evening in Austin Stack Park, Tralee.  The Munster Junior Final is fixed for Wednesday June 29th.

U-12 South Kerry League Fixture: Templenoe are away to Renard on Wednesday evening at 7.30.

Co League Result: Templenoe received a walk-over from Strand Road for the game scheduled for Saturday last.

Junior Co League Result: Templenoe lost to Keel in Portmagee on Friday last by 3-09 to 0-07. Match Report.

U-12 Co League Result: Kenmare 2-10 Templenoe 3-07. Templenoe came from behind to earn a draw after an exciting game in Kenmare.

Munster Semi-finals: Good luck to the Kerry Junior and Senior panels against Limerick on Sunday.

Junior Co League Fixture: Templenoe play Keel in Keel on Friday the 10th. of June at 8 PM.

U-14 South Kerry Final: Well done to the Templenoe U-14 team which beat St. Mary's in the South Kerry B U-14 final last Saturday in Waterville.

Co League Result: Templenoe lost away to Ballydonoghue on Saturday last by 0-11 to 1-5. Match Report

Junior Co League Result: Templenoe lost to Skellig Rangers in Portmagee on Friday last by 1-11 to 0-6.

Congratulations to Sean Sheehan and Mike Hallisey who were on the South Kerry U-14 team which beat West Kerry in the U-14 Co. Championship last week.  Also congratulations to Daniel O'Connor on making the Kerry South panel, they play Limerick in their first game.

Meeting: The June meeting of Templenoe GAA Club will take place in the Community Centre on Tuesday 14th. June at  10pm..

Junior Co League Result: Templenoe beat Tousist away last Friday by 2-08 to 0-08 Match Report

U12 Co League result: Templenoe 4-5 Kenmare 2-8. This was an exciting game played before a large crowd in Templenoe last Sunday evening. Templenoe led by 2-01 to 0-03 at half time. Kenmare reduced the deficit with 2 well taken points early in the second half but Templenoe responded with goals from Michelle O Connor and a bullet from Cian Hallissey to go 4-01 to 0-05 ahead. Kenmare did make a comeback towards the end but templenoe held on for the win.

AIB County Championship: Kenmare district defeated Feale Rangers in Templenoe last Sunday on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-13. Templenoe Players involved include Shane Cremin, Dermot O Shea and Damien Clifford.

U12 Co League fixture: Templenoe play Kenmare on Sunday the 22nd of May in Templenoe.

AIB County Championship: Kenmare district were narrowly beaten 0-17 to 0-16 after extra time by Shannon Rangers in Templenoe on Sunday last, they play Feale Rangers in the losers round next Sunday at 2.30 PM again in Templenoe.

U14 Divisional playoff: The U14 team were defeated by Firies in their divisional play off in Glenflesk on Friday night. They trailed their opponents by 14 points at half time but battled on to close the gap to only 2 points at the final whistle. This was a very good display against a strong Firies team.

U12 Co League fixture: Templenoe play Kenmare on Sunday the 22nd of May in Templenoe.

U12 Co League result: Templenoe U12s had a good win over Glenbeigh/Glencar on Sunday evening last.

Fixture: Templenoe are away to Listry on Saturday evening the 23rd of April at 7PM in the first round of the novice championship.

Training: Training for this week has been switched from Tuesday and Thursday to Wednesday night at 7.30.

Spillane Cup Fixture: Second game of the season V Kilgarvan at 12.00 PM on Sunday the 27th of February in Kilgarvan.

Result: Templenoe lost their first game of the season to Tousist in the Spillane cup on Sunday last.

Spillane Cup Fixture: First game of the season V Tousist at 2.30 PM on Sunday the 20th of February at home in Templenoe.

Team Captain: Senior team captain for the year 2005 will be Damien Clifford with his brother Timothy filling the role of Vice captain. Best of luck to the boys for the year.

Senior Team Management: Paul Crowley has taken on the role of team trainer for the year and will be assisted by selectors Mike Crowley, Dan O Sullivan and John Sheehan.

Junior Team Management: Templenoe will be entering a B team in the Urban League under the management of Denis Cremin, Shane Cremin and Harold O Sullivan.

Training: Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7.30 PM in Templenoe

Bord na nOg AGM: Templenoe GAA's Bord na nOg AGM will take place on Saturday January 22nd at 6.30 PM in the Community Centre.

GOAL Challenge, Tsunami Fund: Templenoe GAA would like to thank all those who contributed to the GOAL Challenge match played on Saturday January 8th under lights in Templenoe. Proceeds from the game have been forwarded to GOAL to aid the victims of the South Asia Tsunami disaster. An excellent total of €900 was raised. The game itself finished in a draw 4-8 to 5-5.

Meeting:The January meeting of Templenoe GAA club will be held on Wednesday the 26th of January at 9.30 PM in the Community Centre.

Annual Draw: Templenoe GAA clubs annual draw was held on Sunday night last in Pat Spillanes bar. The winners were:
