Round 3 of the Kerry Petroleum Senior Club Football Championship sees Templenoe welcome Na Gaeil on Saturday evening. Both teams are looking to avoid the relegation final so we are expecting a keenly contested match.

Templenoe have been drawn in Group A of the Garveys SuperValu Senior Football Championship alongside South Kerry, East Kerry and West Kerry.

The opening round will be scheduled for the weekend of the 16th September and will see Templenoe playing West Kerry.


Templenoe GAA Club are holding their annual Golf Classic in association with Killarney Kenmare Cahersiveen Credit Union and The Ring of Kerry Golf Club on Friday 18th to Sunday 20th of August.

This three person scramble is taking place in The Ring of Kerry Golf Club and has a prize fund of over €3,000.

Templenoe GAA Golf Classic 2023 Rules

3 Ball  Scramble Stroke play competition, Mens White Tees  Ladies Red Tees, 15% of the Combined Handicap

3 Drives to be used by each player on the team.

The Players ball that is chosen must play 1st as it lies.The 2nd and 3rd ball place on the fairway or drop ball in the rough within 6”

Longest Drive 16th / Nearest Pin 18th

GUI course playing handicap to be used.

Mens allowance for no registered golfers is 18 handicap, Ladies allowance for no registered golfers is 24 handicap

Score Cards must have name and mobile number of team captain on it when handed in after round and the category the team is entered in.

Team Categories Explained

Category 1          GUI Registered Golfers

Category 2          Mixed Golfers ( This is for a mixed male and female teams and GUI registered and none GUI registered golfers on the team )

Category 3          GUI Registered Ladies Team

Category 4          None GUI Registered Golfers ( this is for teams with all none GUI registered golfers. Male or Female )


Scoring Explained

The total shots taken per hole are added up to get the total gross score and the 15% of the teams combined Handicaps are subtracted from the score to get the teams total Net score


TEAM A shoot a gross score of 76 shots

Player 1 has a handicap or 12, Player 2 has a handicap or 18, Player 3 has a handicap or 24

Team A Total Handicap is 54 divided by .15 = 8.1shots

Team A has a Handicap of 8.1shots

Team A Gross Score 76 less their handicap of 8.1    Total NET is 67.9

Give Respect – Get Respect is an awareness campaign that seeks to ensure that Gaelic Games are promoted and played in a positive, fair and enjoyable manner and where Players, Coaches, Spectators and Referees Give Respect – Get Respect from each other.

In the Respect Campaign Weekend’ on the 19th/20th August, clubs are being asked to focus on and reinforce the principles of the Respect campaign, thereby increasing the awareness among the GAA community.

Up For The Match

The RTE cameras were in Templenoe & Kenmare on Thursday afternoon to record the All Ireland build up with the supporters. We had a great turnout down in Templenoe GAA Grounds with everyone decked out in Green & Gold

Kerry have a very diffcult quarter final draw against Tyrone in Dublin. Tadhg and Adrian are named on the starting 15. Killian Spillane is out with an injury

Kerry are playing Louth in Portloaise in the final round of the group stages. Everything is on the line in a tight group and all possibilities are open to Kerry from topping the group to being eliminated.
